Meet the founders

They met in 2025 and immediately fell in love. Soon after, Thea moved to London and they began building a life together.

Rainbow Space was born while they were participating in the Creative Business Accelerator at the Roundhouse. During that time, Thea and Shel realised how deeply they both missed something while growing up. As a queer trans fem person and a nonbinary mixed race person, Thea and Shel rarely saw role models or stories that reflected their identities or the families around them.

That absence became the reason they started Rainbow Space. Today they are building a platform where queer families and children can find resources, inclusive stories, and a safe space where they feel seen, supported, and where they can belong.

MgA Thea Jacobra is an award-wining creative director and somatic practitioner whose work explores the intersections of art, queerness, and spirituality. Shel Hamilton McKenzie is a musician, producer, and songwriter known as Kensal, creating emotionally resonant work through sound and storytelling.
